Alberto Del Rio's WWE Career Appears Permanently Over Despite AAA TiesFormer two-time World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, now known as Alberto El Patrón, reportedly has no future in WWE — not even in a backstage or non-wrestling capacity. This news comes despite WWE's acquisition of AAA, where Del Rio was recently active.

According to a report by Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net, WWE remains "adamant" about not bringing Del Rio back, regardless of their new ties with AAA.

🔍 WWE's Stance on Alberto Del Rio Remains Firm

In a post on X/Twitter, Hays wrote:

"@BodyslamNet have learned through sources that WWE are adamant on not wanting to use Alberto El Patrón fka Alberto Del Rio whatsoever."

This sentiment echoes an earlier report from Fightful Select (October 2023), which revealed that a high-level WWE executive had confirmed there was "no chance" of Del Rio returning to the company in any capacity.

Even after WWE acquired AAA and expanded its global talent pool, their position on Del Rio remains unchanged.

⚔️ Del Rio's Recent AAA Run and Title Loss

Del Rio, who is also a former AAA Mega Champion, recently attempted to reclaim his title in a rematch against El Hijo Del Vikingo. The match featured several distractions and interferences, and despite a hard-fought effort, Del Rio was defeated.

With Vikingo retaining the AAA Mega Championship and Del Rio now out of the title picture, his wrestling future looks uncertain — especially with WWE officially closing the door on a return.

🧠 Triple H's Creative Control Leaves No Room for Del Rio

Now that Triple H holds creative control in WWE, he plays a central role in deciding who appears on WWE programming. All reports suggest that Del Rio is not under consideration, and his controversial past may continue to be a factor in that decision.

While some stars from WWE’s past have been brought back under Triple H’s new era, Del Rio is not among them — and is not expected to return at all.
