💔 John Cena Issues Disappointing Update on His Final Few WWE Opponents

John Cena Confirms AJ Styles Won’t Be Part of His Farewell Tour – Who Could Be His Final Opponents?

🏆 Cena’s Farewell Tour Countdown

WWE icon John Cena is entering the final stretch of his career.
After his victory over Logan Paul at Clash in Paris 2025, Cena confirmed that he only has eight appearances left, which will likely feature four matches before retirement.

Fans are eagerly awaiting dream showdowns, but Cena has already ruled out one of the most requested matches for his farewell run.

❌ No AJ Styles vs John Cena Rematch

During the Clash in Paris post-show, Cena admitted that he cannot face every star he wished to share the ring with one last time.

In particular, he confirmed that he will not wrestle AJ Styles again this year. Instead, Cena paid tribute to The Phenomenal One in a different way — by hitting a Styles Clash on Logan Paul and then publicly shouting out Styles after the match.

“With eight appearances left, I know I’m not going to be able to wrestle everybody who was influential in my career… I gotta shout out AJ,” Cena said.

This revelation is bittersweet, considering Cena and Styles delivered classic matches in 2016–2017, widely regarded as some of the best bouts of the past decade.

⚔️ Possible Opponents for Cena’s Final Matches

While Styles is off the table, Cena still has major names lined up for his farewell run:

  • 🐂 Brock Lesnar – Their feud reignited at SummerSlam 2025, and the two are expected to clash at Wrestlepalooza.

  • 🎭 Dominik Mysterio – Currently the holder of the Intercontinental Championship, the only title Cena has never won. A Crown Jewel showdown could be in the works.

  • 🛡️ Gunther – The Ring General would be a fitting test of Cena’s grit, possibly as his retirement opponent.

  • 🏴 Drew McIntyre – A main-event-level star who could send Cena off with a blockbuster match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.

🔮 What This Means for Cena’s Legacy

John Cena’s choice to honor AJ Styles rather than face him again reflects a new side of The Unseen 17. Instead of chasing dream rematches, he is looking to pay tribute to rivals while focusing on delivering fresh final battles.

Although some fans may be disappointed, Cena’s remaining matches still promise to be emotional, high-stakes encounters that will define the closing chapter of his legendary career.
