#WWE: Jey Uso Advances in “Last Time Is Now” Tournament | John Cena Final Opponent Update

#JohnCena: The Ghost of His Past Advances in WWE “Last Time is Now” Tournament

One of the biggest ghosts from John Cena’s recent past has moved one step closer to potentially becoming his final opponent, as a former World Champion has officially advanced in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament.

🔥 Jey Uso Advances — And the Ghost Returns

On the November 14th edition of SmackDown, two tournament matches were announced:

  • LA Knight vs. Mystery Opponent

  • Jey Uso vs. The Miz

Jey Uso’s match drew the most intrigue. Earlier this year, he eliminated John Cena to win the 2025 Royal Rumble, sending Cena into a surprising new arc while launching himself into the greatest singles run of his career.

Now, Jey has punched his ticket to the next round, joining Rusev and Sheamus as the third confirmed competitor advancing.

His win over The Miz has reignited speculation that he could be the one to meet Cena for the final time — a poetic finish to their story.

⚔️ More Names Entering the Battle

The tournament is gaining momentum, and two more major matches are set:

📌 Gunther vs. Je’Von Evans (RAW)

Gunther returns for the first time since his loss to CM Punk at SummerSlam 2025. Facing rising NXT star Je’Von Evans, the Ring General is widely considered a favorite to win the whole tournament.

📌 Solo Sikoa vs. Mystery Opponent

Solo, another “ghost” from Cena’s past and a key player during Cena’s feud with the renewed Bloodline, also steps into the tournament. His match could set up another emotional showdown with Cena if he advances far enough.

⏳ What Happens Next?

Next week’s SmackDown will reveal the final four competitors in the tournament. After that, the tournament structure will become clearer as WWE prepares to determine John Cena’s final opponent ever.

So far, WWE has brought together:

  • Familiar rivals

  • Rising stars

  • Past antagonists who shaped Cena’s journey in 2025

There are still no official brackets, leaving fans speculating about possible dream matchups — but that could change very soon.
