John Cena Allegedly Sent Former WWE Champion to Developmental — Truth Behind Bray Wyatt’s Early Career

John Cena is widely respected in WWE 🐐 — a legend whose influence stretches far beyond the ring. But according to David Otunga, Cena may have played a surprising role in the early career shift of Bray Wyatt (Husky Harris) 😮.

When Wyatt first appeared in WWE as part of The Nexus, he wrestled under the name Husky Harris. After feuding with Cena in the early 2010s, he was suddenly sent back to the developmental system FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) — where he later transformed into the iconic Bray Wyatt character 👁‍🗨🔥.

In a recent video, Otunga shared an incident from a tag match where Husky Harris allegedly accidentally poked Cena in the eye, which reportedly made Cena furious 😡. Backstage, The Champ was said to be upset, claiming the group “wasn’t ready,” and shortly after, Harris was informed he was heading back to FCW.

“He got poked in the eye… Cena went crazy. We got to the back, he went off, and later Husky found out we were being sent back,”

Otunga believes Cena may even feel that sending Harris back helped shape Bray Wyatt’s future character 💭 — because without that setback, the transformation into The Eater of Worlds may never have happened.

Cena later paid tribute to Wyatt during his match vs AJ Styles at Crown Jewel 2025, honoring the late star’s legacy 🌙. With Cena only one match left — facing Gunther on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event — fans wait eagerly to see how Triple H will close the book on Cena’s legendary career 📘🏆.
